A new National Emergency Committee on Education which includes among its members Marcus Aaron, president of the Pittsburgh Board of Education; Maurice Bisgyer, executive director of the Jewish Community Center in Washington, and David E. Weglein, superintendent of schools in Baltimore, Md., met this week at Brookings Institution, Washington.
The function of the committee is the improvement of educational conditions throughout the nation. A program which hopes to meet the emergency created by the closing down of 2,000 public schools throughout the country on account of lack of funds, will be planned.
