The Jewish firemen of New York City have been excused from duty by Fire Commissioner Doran in order to attend a breakfast where they will hear a discussion of the significance of Jewish education.
The breakfast will take place on Sunday morning, April 30, at 8:30 o’clock, at the St. George Hotel, 51 Clark Street, Brooklyn, and will be held under the auspices of the Brooklyn Committee of the Jewish Education Association.
Judge Nathan Sweedler is chairman of this Committee and Jacob H. Cohen, well known communal worker of Brooklyn, is the vice-chairman. The breakfast on April 30 will be addressed, among others, by Judge Jonah J. Goldstein, vice-president of the Jewish Education Association; Rabbi Alexander Lyons of Eighth Avenue Temple, and Judge Sweedler.
