The sum of $40,000 will be raised for the American Red Cross by the Workmen’s Circle, Jewish fraternal order with a national membership of 72,000, according to an announcement made here today by Joseph Baskin, general secretary.
Mr. Baskin also announced that 750 branches of the order raised $60,000 during the year for relief work, mainly in Russia. The branches have already bought War Bonds totalling $400,000, he stated.
