For the first time since the Republic of Turkey founded, after World War I, a Turkish Governor has visited the Jewish community his city to Inquire into its needs and activities, it was reported here today.
The Governor, Osman Chukru Adal, visited the Grand Rabbinate of Izmir (##yrna) recently to inspect the activities of the large Jewish Community. He ex##ssed particular interest in the intellectual activities of the youth and told the ##s that they were full citizens of the republic. He urged them to call on him in event that they needed something which he could provide or if they had a complaint make.
