The views of non-governmental bodies should be sought by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization before it extends its activities in Germany, the executive of the World Agudas Israel Organization has recommended in a memorandum submitted to UNESCO.
The Agudas Israel memorandum also urged greater acceptance of assistance of non-governmental organizations in the work of UNESCO, whose forthcoming meeting will be held in Florence. The memorandum asks that official status be given to groups of non-governmental organizations having similar aims, particularly those bodies seeking to combat secularization in education.
