Jewish groups gave a mixed response to Judge Samuel Alito’s nomination for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. Alito was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday in a party-line vote, 10-8, and his nomination will be debated on the Senate floor later this week.
