The South African Board of Jewish Deputies and the Zionist Federation of South Africa today issued a joint statement supporting Israel’s claims for $1,500,000,000 in reparations from Germany. The statement declared that while monetary reparations do not compensate for the incalculable losses suffered by the Jews under Nazism, justice demands that the German people make financial reparations.
