Jewish groups negotiating on behalf of Holocaust survivors will not negotiate with the government of Austria on restitution issues because of the participation of the far-right Freedom Party in the country’s coalition. The decision comes amid frustration among Jewish groups with what they see as Austria’s stonewalling on restitution and compensation for survivors.
