Attorney General J. Howard McGrath today promised a delegation of leaders of religious, civic, veterans and labor organizations that Federal grand jury action would be initiated to investigate Florida anti-minority terrorism if and when the government gathers sufficient evidence.
The delegation asked Mr. McGrath to call a grand jury immediately but the Attorney General said he felt that there was not enough evidence available at present. Mr. McGrath made known today that he has asked the F.B.I. to go ahead with searching out the guilty parties and that jurisdictional question will be determined later.
Jewish representatives at today’s meeting included; Rabbi Israel Goldstein, American Jewish Congress; David Brody, Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith; ### Marcus Cohn, American Jewish Committee.
