Messages of support of President Roosevelt in the United States’ all-out war against Japan continued to pour in today from many Jewish organizations all over the country.
Frank L. Weil, president of the Jewish Welfare Board, the Jewish organization in closest contact with our armed forces, sent a message to the President offering the “complete facilities and entire resources” of his organization. He promised that the JWB will “intensify its services and redouble its efforts,” adding that “in all solemnity, and with a calmness born of deep conviction in the might of America and in its indestructible courage to see it through to absolute victory, the Jewish Welfare Board pledges itself to the grave and inescapable duty before us.”
The Agudas Israel, speaking on behalf of orthodox Jews, wired the White House that orthodox Jewry “stands united under your leadership in this decisive hour for our country as for the entire democratic world. We are certain that with the help of the Almighty this crisis will lead to victory over the dark powers enlisted by our enemies.”
