Jewish groups welcomed a decision by Belarus to deport a Palestinian man accused of propagating a “militant form of Islam.” Muzaen Halid Hussein Al-Muhammed, a pediatrician and a doctoral student in the Belarussian capital of Minsk, was ordered last week to leave the former Soviet republic. The Belarussian KGB said the man was involved in inciting ethnic strife and in propagating ideas of a “continuous war of militants of Islam for the return of the Palestinian territories.”
