Police were searching today for Arab terrorists who shot and wounded a Jewish police inspector, H. Zlotnik, in Safed and a British constable, C. Fullbrooke, in Tulkarem.

The Safed shooting occurred shortly after a visit to the city by William Denis Battershill, new Chief Secretary of the Palestine Government.

Tulkarem, Arab town in central Palestine, was put under curfew. A collective fine of $750 was imposed on residents of the street in which the shooting occurred.

Arab newspapers reported the arrest of two Jewish special policemen following discovery of 17 revolvers, two bombs and a quantity of ammunition during a search of the Agro-Bank quarter near Tel Aviv.
