The fourth annual commencement exercises of the Jewish Institute of Religion will be held Monday, May 27 at the Institute, 40 West 68th Street, New York City.
The degree of Master of Hebrew Literature and Rabbi will be conferred on five graduates. Harry Brevis, Detroit; Jacob X. Cohen, New York; Victor Eppstein, Berkeley, Cal; Maurice Hirshberg, Milwaukee, and Herman Saville, Pittburgh.
Judge Julian W. Mack, chairman of the board of trustees of the Institute, will preside at the exercises.
Dr. David Lefkowitz, rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, Dallas, Texas, who is vice-president of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, will speak on “Ambassadors to the Second Generation.”
The baccalaureate sermon will be preached next Sunday evening by Rabbi Stephen S. Wise of the Free Synagogue, who is the founder and president of the Institute.
