(Jewish Daily Bulletin)
A “Jewish issue” was projected into the Michigan primary elections which will be held tomorrow.
Governor Alex Groesbeck running for re-election is charged with responsibility for the defeat of a bill in April, 1921 which would have prohibited the sale of the “Dearborn Independent” in Michigan. While the bill did not mention Henry Ford or his “Dearborn Independent” it provided for a new ? law armed against publications with religious or race prejudice or discrimination. The bill passed the Legislature but action was reconsidered the following day when Governor Groesbeck interfered, causing its defeat it is stated.
