Jewish Judge in Morocco Named Member of Constitutional Chamber

A Jew, Azoulai Maxime Nessim, has been hominated to the Moroccan Constitutional Chamber, according to the Moroccan official gazette published here today. M. Nessim has for several years been a judge of the Supreme Court, to which another Jew, Salomon Bensabat, was recently appointed.

King Hassan II received representatives of the Jewish community and the Grand Rabbi of Casablanca on the anniversary of Moroccan independence. The King reiterated his sentiments of concern for the welfare of Moroccan Jews. The Grand Rabbi offered a prayer for the Royal Family.
