For the first time in many years the Jewish labor cooperatives were closed on the Day of Atonement. Fights which had occurred in previous years did not mar the observance of the holiday yesterday.

All synagogues in the capital were crowded. Memorial prayers for the victims of the Palestine outbreak were recited.

An attempt by Communists to arrange an anti-religious demonstration was prevented by the police.
