Optimistic hopes for an Arab-Jewish understanding in Palestine were expressed by Morris Shiplacoff, American Socialist leader and chairman of the People’s Tool Campaign, at a press conference here today prior to the opening of the first World Congress for Palestine Workers. Mr. Shiplacoff is a member of the American delegation to the Congress. The delegation recently arrived here from Palestine where they made a tour of the country. He also delivered an inspiring report on the Palestine situation.

Morris Feinstone, another member of the American delegation, expressed the sympathies of the Jewish workers in America and delivered the greetings of William Green, president of the American Federation of Labor. Salman Rubashov, Jewish labor leader from Palestine, pointed out that the aim of the Congress was to establish a world league for Palestine workers above parties and politics, to work for the enlightenment of the Arab workers and to define the attitude of Jewish labor in Palestine in connection with the latest developments at Geneva.
