Benjamin C. Bachrach, well known Jewish attorney, today was appointed public defender to represent indigent defendants in criminal cases in Cook county. The appointment was made by the Cook County judicial advisory council, sponsors of the plan, with the approval of Chief Justice John P. McGoorty of the Cook County Criminal Court.
As a criminal lawyer, Mr. Bachrach received world wide publicity as one of the attorneys for the defense in the trial of Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold.
