Mayor Stephen J. Bercik announced today the designation of Milton Levin, local Jewish leader, as chairman of the newly-created Elizabeth’s Mayor’s Commission on Human Relations. The Commission is an outgrowth of the 1949 New Jersey State law providing for the creation of mayor’s commissions to promote better inter-group understanding.
Mr. Levin, who is vice chairman of the Jewish Council, has served for the past three years as the general chairman of the Elizabeth Good Neighbor Council, a voluntary organization for the improvement of community relations. He is also a member of the advisory committee of the Rutgers University human relations workshop.
