Jews in Finland have succeeded in securing from the British military authorities the segregation in a separate camp of about 200 Jewish prisoners taken on the Russian front, it was reported here today by Jewish refugees arriving from Helsinki.
The measure became necessary in view of the mistreatment of Russian-Jewish war prisoners by German soldiers in Finland. The Jews will now be guarded by Finnish soldiers only.
The refugees highly praised the leaders of the Jewish community in Helsinki for the aid received from the Jewish congregation there. No Jewish refugees will be left ib Finland after the arrival this week of the last group of Jews from Germany and other countries in occupied Europe who had been given shelter in Finland for many months. Among those who arrived today are Dr. Ehrlich, an internationally known chemist from Germany and Dr. Szekely, well-known Hungarian-born psychologist, and Adolf Fleischer, prominent Vienna musician.
