More than 120 Jewish lay and professional leaders throughout the United States have accepted membership on the newly-formed Commission on Hebrew Language and Culture to “prepare the outline of a program for Hebrew activities on a large scale,” it was disclosed by Judge Louis E. Levinthal, chairman of the Commission.
Judge Levinthal, former president of the Zionist Organization of America, said the Commission–which is affiliated with the Histadruth Ivrith of America–will seek to evaluate the present status and needs of the Hebrew language and culture in America on a national scale.
