An Israeli scholar was assailed here yesterday as he was walking on the street shortly after completing one of his lectures at the University of Genoa. The assailant called him a “dirty Jew” and beat him. The victim, Prof. Leo Levi, the new lecturer in Hebrew Philology at the University had arrived here several days ago. Prof. Levi lost consciousness as a result of the beating and was taken to the hospital and released. The assailant is being sought.
