Jewish librarians from 22 states ended the second annual convention of the Association of Jewish Libraries here yesterday by electing Jacob I. Dienstag, Yeshiva University librarian, as president.
Acquisition policies in research collections of Judaica was one of the major problems discussed. Dr. Charles Berlin, Lee M. Friedman Bibliographer in Judaica and chairman of the Hebrew Division in the Harvard College Library, was one of the principal speakers. Other speakers included Prof. Isadore Twersky, Nathan Littauer Professor of Hebrew Literature and Philosophy at Harvard University; Theodore Wiener, head of the Hebraic Cataloguing section of the Librarian of Congress, and Prof. Gard Korman of Cornell University.
