Prof. Pinchas Kantorowitz, a mathematician and a member of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, has died in Sverdlovsk at the age of 63, according to a report reaching here. Prof. Kantorowitz was born in White Russia and educated at a yeshiva and at the University of Minsk. He was named to the Academy at the age of 36 and was appointed a professor of mathematics at the same time. Prof. Kantorowitz was also well known as a Hebrew and Yiddish philologist.
