Jewish migration from the Soviet Union to Israel exceeded 30,000 in 1972, more than double last year, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was informed on high authority. Statistics showed that as of Dec. 9 this migration totaled more than 29,500. During all of 1971 it totaled an estimated 14,000. This year’s migration was particularly heavy during Nov.-Dec. The highest one-week total was during Nov. 5-11, when more than 1000 arrived in Israel. There were 950 Soviet immigrants during Nov. 26-Dec. 2 and almost 800 during Dec. 3-9. The lowest one-week total was 293 during Dec. 10-16.
