The executive council of the Jewish National Fund adopted its 1959 budget here today, calling for expenditures of 29,700,000 Israeli pounds ($16,350,000), compared with last year’s budget of 23,400,000 pounds. The increase is expected to come from greater income to be obtained from properties owned by the JNF, as well as from increased contributions.

Meanwhile, this week-end, planting was begun of the new “Rotary Peace Forest,” near the shore at Herzliah. The forest has been donated by 108 branches of Rotary International throughout the world, including branches in Egypt and Syria. Clifford A. Randall, president of Rotary International, attended the planting ceremonies and expressed the hope that individual members of Rotary would come to Israel every year to add trees to the “Peace Forest.”
