A resolution urging British Jewry to help the Jewish National Fund expand its settlements in Galilee, in the Negev and in the Jerusalem “corridor,” was adopted here last night at the conclusion of a two-day conference of the J.N.F. of Britain. The conference also adopted a resolution emphasizing that the Jews in Jerusalem as well as in the whole of Israel were determined not to allow the severance of Jerusalem from Israel.
Dr. Abraham Granot, world head of the Jewish National Fund, who came here from Israel to address the gathering, outlined a program for land acquisition and development by the J.N.F. which was drawn up in close collaboration with Israel Government leaders. He emphasized that the Jewish National Fund would resist any proposals for changing the status or program of the Fund which might be made at the next session of the World Zionist Congress.
The Conference recorded “profound respect and admiration for Dr. Chaim Weizmann” and decided to complete the Weizmann Forest in Israel as an “enduring tribute to Jewry’s beloved leader.” The delegates sent a message of congratulations to Dr. Weizmann on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
