The Jewish News, a new weekly newspaper sponsored by a representative citizen’s committee, will make its appearance here this month, it was announced today. The new periodical will be issued to report and interpret Jewish life embracing the social services, religious, fraternal and general communal occurrences.
Governing the Jewish news will be a board of directors consisting of the following: Maurice Aronsson, Fred M. Butzel, Theodore Levin, Maurice H. Schwartz, Philip Slomovitz, Isidore Sobeloff, Abraham Srere and Henry Wineman. Philip Slomovitz, for 19 years editor of the Jewish Chronicle, has severed his connections with that paper to assume the editorship of the new periodical. Mr. Schwartz will be the manager.
