The Yiddishe Zeitung, oldest Jewish newspaper in South America, today turned over nearly 400,000 pesos received from its readers as contributions for relief of Israel’s flood victims.
The 50th anniversary of the Jewish National Fund was celebrated here amid a variety of communal festivities. Meetings and other celebrations were held by all Jewish and Zionist institutions and organizations in honor of the Fund’s jubilee. Isaac Kaplan, president of the J.N.F, in Argentina, and Manuel Graiver, its director, paid a formal visit to Israel Minister Yaacov Tzur. The local radio stations broadcast special programs in honor of the event.
