The Jewish Occupational Council, a national coordinating body of Jewish organizations providing vocational services, announced today the establishment of an international division that will extend the Council’s services to Israel and, subsequently to Jewish organizations operating vocational services in Europe and Africa. The Council now operates primarily in the United States and Canada.
Expansion of the service was recommended by a steering committee of American and Israeli vocational service professionals who met in Jerusalem last August at the international conference of Jewish communal services. Samuel S. Greenberg, of Detroit, outgoing chairman of the Jewish Occupational Council, has accepted the chairmanship of the international division.
