Several Jewish army officers today challenged Endek Deputy Budzinsky to a duel for insulting the memory of the Jewish war dead in a speech to the Sejm (lower Parliamentary house) last night. Budzinsky, himself a former officer, received the challengers’ seconds.

At the same time, the Union of Jewish Ex-Servicemen telegraphed Marshal Smigly-Rydz, head of the Polish Legion and virtual dictator of Poland, expressing indignation against what it called the affront to the Jews killed in the war.
