Representatives of all the Federations of Jewish Communities in Germany met to-day in Berlin and created a representative committee of thirteen members; representing the Jewish population throughout the German Republic for the purpose of joining the Central Union of German Citizens of Jewish Faith in negotiations with the Federal Government and the States Governments in order to obtain the protection and security of Jewish life and property and the safeguarding of Jewish economic interests against the menace of the growing antisemitic agitation.
The new committee has decided also to join the Jewish Economic Joint Committee comprising all Jewish organisations in the country, which was formed last week to promote Jewish co-operative undertakings and in other ways to counter the anti-Jewish boycott agitation. The O.R.T. (Federation on for Promoting Jewish Artisanship and Agriculture), which has its headquarters in Berlin, has also joined the Jewish Economic Joint Committee.
