Leaders of various Jewish organizations paid tribute today to Edward A. Norman, founder and president of the American Fund for Israel instructions who died yesterday at New Canaan, Conn. Mrs. Rose Halprin, acting chairman of the Jewish Agency, said in a statement on behalf of the Agency’s executive that Mr. Norman’s “service and contributions to the furtherance of Israel culture and all Israel causes have been of inestimable value.”
Irving M. Engel, president of the American Jewish Committee, of which Mr. Norman had been an active officer, said that Mr. Norman “stood in the vanguard of those Americans who strive for better understanding among all faiths and creeds.” Similar statements were ### sued by a number of other groups and institutions in which the late leader was active.
