Jewish organizations welcomed the arrest of indicted war criminal Radovan Karadzic.
The Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee applauded the arrest of Karadzic, who is accused of overseeing the 1995 massacre at Srebrenica, where 7,000 Muslim civilians were killed in what is described as the worst atrocity in Europe since World War II.
Both organizations said that Karadzic’s arrest, after he spent more than a decade in hiding, sends the message that suspected war criminals will be pursued and brought to justice.
