A project to transfer all the Jewish orphanages in Lithuania to Palestine was considered at a special meeting of representatives of the orphanages.
The question was raised at the conference as to whether, in view of the difficult economic situation in Lithuania, there is any future for the orphans reared in the country. It was agreed that there is a good opportunity to send a large group of children from all parts of Lithuania to Palestine during the months of October.
Palestine Jewry will provide the land for the purpose of establishing children’s colonies and German firms have undertaken to furnish building material, it was stated.
