Hirsch Grohman, leader of Orthodox Jewry in Poland for half a Century, died here today at the age of 81. Grohman belonged to a unique type of Polish Jew, which is rapidly disappearing. Being one of the greatest manufacturers in the country, well acquainted with affairs of the world, a master of a great fortune, he still remained a devoted adherent of Chassidism. He was for many years a member of the Warsaw Kahillah Council, and active in many philanthropic societies. Thousands of Jews and Gentiles participated in his funeral.
