Dr. Magnus Hirschfield, eminent German authority on sexual problems and professor of sexual knowledge in the Hombold Hochschule, was today elected president of the International Sexual Reform Association at its fourth congress now in session here. Dr. Hirschfield was instrumental in the calling of the first congress in 1921.
Known for his wide knowledge of sexual problems and a pioneer advocate of sexual reform, Dr. Hirschfield organized the Institute of Sexual Reform in Berlin in 1918 which was later taken over by the Prussian government and renamed the Magnus Hirschfield Institute. His services have frequently been utilized in sexual-analysis of criminals.
