The Jewish population of Montreal and its suburbs has increased an estimated 11, 000 between 1951, the date of the last census, and 1954, the research department of the Canadian Jewish Congress revealed today.
The census figures for 1951 showed 80,829 Jews living in Metropolitan Montreal, and the estimate prepared by the research staff of the CJC places the present Jewish population at 92, 000.
