The Jewish press of this city has protested a slur against the Jewish people by a member of the Istanbul city council.
During a speech last week, the member characterized the session of the council as similar to a “Jewish bargain.” When Joseph Salmona, a Jewish member of the Council, protested, the speaker declared: “I intended to use a worse expression.”
