Prime Minister Sir Roy Welensky of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland said here today that he knew the difficulties of two religions in one household.
Commenting on interracial marriage and the difficulties of racial integration, during an address at the National Press Club here, Mr. Welensky said that he was a Jew, married for 35 years to a Christian lady. He termed marriage an affair of individual choice and indicated that his own was a successful one.
The Prime Minister refused to comment on Israeli differences with the Union of South Africa over racism. He said that he had enough troubles of his own and did not wish to get involved in the problems of other nations.
