Prof. Jacob Parnass, formerly on the staff of the University of Lwow in Poland and now a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Science, has been awarded a prize of 200,000 rubles, which is the highest in the Soviet Union, it was announced here today.
The Jewish professor was given the prize in recognition of his research work in biological chemistry, the announcement said. The subject of the research for which the prize was awarded, however, was not revealed.
