The election of Prof. Chaim Perelman, secretary general of the Friends of the Hebrew University, as president of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the Free University of Belgium was announced today by University officials.
Prof. Perelman, who is also president of the United Jewish Appeal, was also named president of the Friends of Jewish Youth of Brussels. He will go to India to participate in the International Institute of Philosophy which will he held August 31 to September 5.
From India, he will go to the United States to take part in the Assembly of the International Council of Philosophy and Humanities, a department of UNESCO. He is also secretary general of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies.
