A plan to concentrate all displaced Jews living outside of DP camps in Italy has been worked out by the Central Committee of the Jewish Refugee Organization here in an attempt to keep the DP’s under centralized administrative control and in order to better assist them, the Refugee Organization announced here today.
In the initial phases of the plan, the DP’s will be established in local DP centers throughout Italy, in the same communities where they now live. These centers will be under the administration of a headquarters office in Rome. Eventually all DP’s will come under the jurisdiction of one of three headquarters — two for the displaced Jews living in Rome and one for Jews in all other areas.
