American Jewry was thanked for its efforts in behalf of displaced Jews, in a special holiday message to the Jews of the United States from Bronislaw Teichholz, chairman of the International Committee for Jewish Refugees, released through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Teichholz said that the plight of the DP’s in Vienna would have been impossible were it not for the assistance of American Jews and their voluntary relief organizations. He pointed out that this was the third New Year which the DP’s greeted from centers where conditions were in many ways similar to those in concentration camps. He expressed the hope that the United Nations would solve the problem of Palestine and the DP’s.
