A transport of 223 Jewish refugees sailed yesterday from Genoa for resettlement in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay and Chile. The group sailed under the suspices of the Joint Distribution Committee.
About 600 displaced Jews from Austria arrived today in an UNRRA transit camp at Cine Citta, a suburb of Rome. More than 400 of them are young men and women. Enroute 90 of them were held by Milan police authorities, but were subsequently released. From Cine Citta they will be sent to various DP camps and training centers.
