British authorities in India have released from detention camps practically all the Jewish refugees from Germany and Austria who were interned in India as enemy aliens, it was disclosed today in a cable from the Jewish Relief Organization in Bombay to Samuel Silverman, Labor MP, who intervened on behalf of the refugees during a recent visit to India.
Although the refugees will not be returned to Germany and Austria, the message stated that it is difficult to find jobs for those who are being allowed to remain in India. The relief organization said that it would arrange for the emigration of those who are not allowed to stay.
