Approximately 250 of the evacuees are repatriates bound for their native Austria, while some 50 will remain in Canada. Advices received by the Joint Distribution Committee in New York from A.C. Glessgold, its director in Shanghai, disclosed that following the completion of “operation Plying Dragon” there will still be 1,500 Jewish refugees in Shanghai.
