Ten thousand blankets, the initial shipment of 23,000 blankets made available to the Joint Distribution Committee in Argentina, are now en route to France for distribution to Jewish orphans and needy persons, Joseph C. Hyman, executive vice-chairman of the J.D.C. announced today. He added that the remaining 13,000 blankets would soon be sent to Belgium, Holland and Poland.

The blankets were purchased by the Junta de Ayuda Judia a las Victims de la Guerra, the Jewish overseas relief agency of Argentina, as part of the Junta’s 1945 contribution to the work of J.D.C. They are being shipped in cooperation with the Argentinian and French Red Cross.
