A conference on religious activities among displaced Jews, in which Jewish religious leaders from various European countries and from Palestine participated, concluded here today, The conference started in Paris ten days ago under the chairmanship of Palestine Chief Rabbi Dr. Isaac Herzog and was later transferred to Switzerland.
The meeting adopted a resolution thanking American Jewry for the aid given to religious Jews in Europe through the Vaad Haatzala, orthodox relief committee. The resolution stressed that the activities of the Vaad Haatzala do not duplicate the relief work done by the Joint Distribution Committee, since they are limited to “certain aspects” of relief and rescue work, particularly those affecting religious problems.
