Arabic will be introduced as the basic language of instruction in the Jewish schools of Morocco next year, Mohammed el Fassy, Minister of Public Education, told a press conference here today.
However the introduction of Arabic in the Jewish schools will be made “with appropriate modifications in accordance with the character of the Jewish community,” the Minister pledged. He said that Arabic would become the basic language of instruction in Arab schools this coming October, then would be brought into private schools and “after a year” into the Jewish schools.
